Dear Customer,
I am writing you to provide an update on Mölnlycke’s global logistics, as we now have received the good news that the Suez Canal is now reopened after a stranded container ship blocking it for nearly a week.
Whilst efforts to dislodge the container ship, numbers show that over 300 ships are now waiting at anchorage to pass through the canal. According to our freight forwarder, assessing the current backlog of vessels, it could take 6 days or more for the complete queue to pass, conditional to safety and other operational circumstances.
Additionally, the ripple effects on global capacity and equipment continues to increase and the blockage triggers a series of further disruptions and backlogs in global shipping that could take months to unravel.
Just like many other companies in our industry, Mölnlycke’s logistics are impacted by the Suez situation. Currently we are expecting the following products to experience delayed deliveries in the range of 2-4 weeks:
• Gloves
• Clean Air Suits,
• Headwear,
• Scrub suits,
• Warm up jackets
We continue to monitor the situation closely and are undertaking all necessary efforts to reroute and by other means minimize any negative impact on our deliveries.
If you have questions about a certain product code, your order status or any other questions, you are welcome to reach out to your Mölnlycke contact at any time.
Mölnlycke sincerely regrets any inconvenience this special situation may cause you, and we are committed to updating you timely as the situation evolves.
