Trocars
A comprehensive range of ergonomically designed trocars, providing simple and safe access into the peritoneal cavity.
A comprehensive range of ergonomically designed trocars, designed with low-profile housing, providing simple and safe access into the peritoneal cavity. Available both as sterile single-packed product and for inclusion in Mölnlycke ® procedure packs.
- Clear, ribbed cannula for instrument visualisation and effective abdominal wall retention
- Robust universal seal accommodates 5-12mm instruments* while maintaining pneumoperitoneum
- Designed with low-profile housing
Optical trocars
Visible trocar allows direct visualisation of the abdominal wall layers as the trocar is inserted, reducing the risk of trocar related injuries especially during primary port placement. The optical trocar provides safe entry into peritoneal cavity.
You can choose between pistol and non-pistol versions, available in 5mm (non-pistol only), 11mm and 12mm.
Balloon fixation trocars
Balloon fixation trocars provide enhanced atraumatic cannula fixation within the abdominal wall, preventing cannula migration even during extended procedures and vigorous instrument exchange. They reduce abdominal intrusion of the cannula which increases surgical working space and optimises visibility, whilst ensuring maintenance of the pneumoperitoneum.
Bladeless trocars
Designed to separate rather than lacerate tissue, causing reduced fascial defect compared with bladed trocars, promoting the reduced requirement for fascial closure.
Hasson trocars
Hasson trocars are designed for surgeons who prefer the security of the open technique for the primary port placement. Its blunt tip design prevents inadvertent damage to viscera during insertion. The cannula depth may be rapidly adjusted by means of the simple and effective fixation devise.
Shielded bladed trocars
Equipped with a sharp linear blade and a simple intuitive shielding mechanism to prevent inadvertent tissue damage, especially with the ‘blind’ primary port placement. The sharp linear blade allows low insertion force and reduced facial defect. The reduced blade width minimizes laceration and optimizes dilation of tissues.
Universal trocar cannula
Compatible with all same size obturators (shielded bladed, bladeless, optical) providing optimal ordering, storage and cost saving efficiencies.

Surgeon trial shows preference for Mölnlycke instruments
Twenty-one laparoscopic surgeons across Germany, Sweden and the UK participated in a recent randomised trial of new laparoscopic instruments from Mölnlycke ® , comparing them to three market-leading competitor instruments
The result? A clear preference for the new Mölnlycke instruments.
