Wound Infection and the role of Biofilms
The majority of wound infections occur when the skin envelope is breached. Using his background in the treatment of patients with lower extremity wounds, Dr. Matthew Malone will discuss the role infection and specifically biofilms play in planning the management of chronic wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, and surgical non-healing wounds.
